Kaylene's love of hair started over 45 years ago in a small country town and transformed into an enriching journey that would last for many years, travelling and working in many cities across Australia and the world. She has owned and managed businesses and been involved in delivering and supporting spectacular hair shows, national competitions and training sessions. Kaylene has been exposed to some of Australia's and the World's finest, greatest and most inspirational hairdressers.
Respect for her ability to train and present quality education has been recognised by many in this industry. She has shown true leadership skills in the arena of running a training academy; KL Hair Academy was an independent training organisation for over 8 years in Islington Newcastle and united a strong team of independent trainers from around Australia.
However through a series of events she has now stirred her craft into travelling the state - meeting, educating and selling the finest of hairdressing scissors produced by Excellent Edges.
She continues to give back to the industry, voluntarily delivering two hour SCISSOR SEMINAR to many TAFES and independent colleges.
Although her home base is in Newcastle she loves being out there amongst you, travelling around NSW from Port Macquarie to Eden, Tamworth to Moree, Dubbo and Bourke.
In fact if invited she will gladly travel to see you individually, armed with the sharpest of tools, knowledge and a mannequin head for you to try before you buy.
Kaylene philosophy is simple: TOOL, TECHNIQUE AND CONSULTATION.
Unfortunately many hairdressers do not realise how much there is to know about their scissors and continue to buy what they already have, getting stuck using the same techniques. Without the necessary range of skills often PANIC sets in and they revert back to their safe way of cutting. Get it right for you: Have the availability to try different lengths, handpieces and edges, build your own kit of scissors and make yourself the hairdresser that you want to be.
